NewWest.tv is New Westminster's community television society – independent, not-for-profit, and made by local people. Our volunteers are the heart of it.
You do not need any experience. We will teach you how to:
- Use cameras – shoot steady, well-framed pictures at interviews, events and live shows
- Record good sound – choose and place microphones so that every voice is clear
- Follow the story process – find a story, research it, plan the interviews and shape it into a program people want to watch
- Put it all together – edit your material and bring a program to air
Whether you want to try something new, build skills for a career, or tell the stories of your neighbourhood, there is a place for you here. You will learn by doing, alongside people who love community television.
